Walk and Talk Therapy

Basically, it means walking and talking during your therapy session, rather than talking to your therapist virtually or in a room, sitting in designated chairs. This can feel quite intense for some clients, to have the therapist sit opposite them. Walking next to each other, side-by-side, even with the social distancing guidelines, can for some feel more equal and less formal. When the weather permits here in Michigan, walking and talking during therapy sessions can be very relaxing and peaceful. However, walking isn’t a must, sitting down somewhere in nature is also an option. It means doing therapy outdoors, in nature, often including or bringing nature and movement into the sessions.

Walk and talk therapy begins with the client and therapist meeting at a location they previously agreed upon. Walk & talk therapy can be helpful in the treatment of:
Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem Issues, Life Transitions, Stress, Anger, Bereavement.
